The name of the Verner Panton Flowerpot Lamp is inspired by the 'Flower Power' wordplay and reflects the psychedelic art scene which was sweeping the world in the late 60s with its 'good vibrations', 'summer of love' and 'flowerpower'. What was seen as revolutionary at the time is now firmly established as a mid-century design classic.

When he created the Panton chair, the world’s first single-form, injection-moulded chair, it was considered a revolutionary technique back in the 1960s. Throughout his life Panton created innovative designs that combined materials in unconventional ways and was greatly influenced by the impact of colour on his work .
